B.C.’s own Evander Kane was traded to his hometown NHL team, the Vancouver Canucks, on Tuesday, with the Edmonton Oilers getting a fourth-round draft pick in return. But Kane has a chequered past, having been accused of sexual assault and betting on NHL games. While Kane was never charged criminally in either case, longtime Canucks fan Maureen Newman said there would be a low tolerance for any off-the-ice antics in Vancouver. Kyle Bhawan, host of the Locked on Canucks podcast, said that Kane would be out to prove he’s grown as a person this season.
