Edmonton Oilers tie conference final with Game 2 shutout win over Dallas Stars


The Edmonton Oilers are coming home with the Western Conference Final tied at one game apiece.

The Oilers shut out the Dallas Stars 3-0 in Game 2 on Friday.

It marks goaltender Stuart Skinner’s third shutout in his past four games.   

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins opened the scoring in the first period, notching his fourth goal of this year’s playoffs.

Two other Oilers — Connor Brown and Brett Kulak — scored in the second period, the goals coming just over a minute apart.

The Edmonton Oilers are now Canada’s last hope in the Stanley Cup playoffs. As other teams bow out, fans across the country are jumping on the Oilers bandwagon.

The victory marks a bounceback for Edmonton, who lost Game 1 after allowing five goals in the third period.

The best-of-seven series now shifts to Edmonton for two games at Rogers Place, where the Oilers are 4-1 so far in the playoffs.

Game 3 between the Oilers and Stars is Sunday.
