Necas Inks Two-Year Deal with Hurricanes, Avoiding Arbitration.
Martin Necas Contract
Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas has committed to the team for the next two seasons, signing a $13 million contract on Monday. The deal carries an average annual value of $6.5 million.
The 25-year-old Czech-born winger, who had the right to file for salary arbitration, opted to avoid the process and secure his future in Raleigh. Necas, a restricted free agent, officially requested an arbitration hearing on July 5th.

“Martin is an exceptionally talented player with a knack for scoring goals,” said Hurricanes general manager Eric Tulsky. “He’s a crucial part of our team’s success, and we’re thrilled to have him locked up for multiple seasons.”
Last season, Necas contributed significantly to the Hurricanes’ offensive output, tallying 53 points (24 goals, 29 assists) in 77 regular-season games. His impact was also felt in the playoffs, where he recorded nine points (four goals, five assists) in 11 games.

Originally selected by Carolina with the 12th overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft, Necas has amassed 243 points (97 goals, 146 assists) in his NHL career. The skilled forward has also proven his playoff mettle with 30 points (11 goals, 19 assists) in 59 postseason contests.
Hurricanes Secure Drury, Eyeing Long-Term Deal for Jarvis
The Hurricanes’ offseason business didn’t stop with Necas. The team finalized a two-year, $3.45 million contract with forward Jack Drury on July 17th. Drury had also been scheduled for an arbitration hearing.

Carolina’s attention now turns to Seth Jarvis, the team’s remaining restricted free agent. The 22-year-old forward enjoyed a breakout season, setting career highs in goals (33), assists (34), and points (67). His playoff performance was equally impressive, as he contributed nine points in 11 games.
“There are a few different paths we can take with Jarvis,” Tulsky explained. “A short-term deal followed by a long-term extension is possible, or we could go straight for a long-term contract. Regardless, we’re confident he’ll be a cornerstone of our franchise for years to come.”
