Seattle Kraken forward Matty Beniers has secured his future with the team, signing a seven-year, $49.98 million contract extension on Monday. The deal carries an average annual value of $7.14 million.
The 21-year-old, who was a restricted free agent, has quickly become a cornerstone of the Kraken’s roster. Last season, he tallied 37 points in 77 games, showcasing his offensive prowess. His impressive rookie campaign earned him the prestigious Calder Trophy as the NHL’s Rookie of the Year in 2023.
