Predators Ship Glass to Penguins for Prospect and Picks.
Cody Glass Trade with Nashville Predators
Nashville, TN – In a surprising move, the Nashville Predators have traded forward Cody Glass to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for prospect Jordan Frasca, a third-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, and a sixth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.
Cody Glass Trade
The 25-year-old Glass, a former sixth overall pick by the Vegas Golden Knights, has shown flashes of offensive talent but has struggled to find consistent scoring touch. In his time with both the Golden Knights and Predators, Glass has tallied 71 points in 187 regular season games. However, last season saw a dip in production with just 13 points in 41 games.
Nashville Predators trade
Nashville is clearly looking to inject youth and potential into their lineup with the acquisition of Frasca. The 23-year-old forward has yet to make his NHL debut but has shown promise in the minor leagues. With the Predators making significant strides in free agency, signing big-name players like Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault, and Brady Skjei, it appears they’re aiming for a Stanley Cup push in the coming years.
Pittsburgh Penguins trade
The Penguins, on the other hand, are hoping Glass can provide some much-needed offensive firepower. They’ve missed the playoffs in consecutive seasons and are looking to return to their winning ways. Adding a veteran forward like Glass could be a key piece to their puzzle.
NHL trades
With Glass entering the final year of his contract, this trade could also be seen as a cost-cutting measure for the Predators. By moving his salary, they free up cap space to potentially make other moves as the season progresses.
As for the draft picks, both teams are adding assets to their prospect pool, giving them flexibility for future roster building.
It remains to be seen how this trade will impact both the Predators and Penguins in the long run, but it undoubtedly adds an interesting storyline to the upcoming NHL season.
