6 Winnipeg Jets Approaching Milestones in 2026-27 – The Hockey Writers –

Make no mistake — team success is the most important thing in sports, and as the Winnipeg Jets near the 2026-27, the focus is rightly on how they’re going to have a lot more of it following their highly-disappointing 2025-26 where they regressed by 21 wins and missed the playoffs.

That being said, individual success is still something to be celebrated and a team will never be strong unless they have talented individuals contributing to the cause. There are more than a handful of Jets players approaching some meaningful career landmarks we’ll take some time to highlight here.

Morgan Barron – 100 Career Points

Barron, who has become a rock-solid fourth-liner and penalty-kill stalwart in Winnipeg over the past few seasons, is closing in on triple digits in points.

The 27 year old has 83 in 321-career games, and he’s a good bet to reach this milestone sometime in the 2027 portion of the schedule, especially if he continues to get a few more top-six looks as he did last season. He posted a career-high 23 (11 goals, 12 assists) in 65 games last season.

Kyle Connor – 700 Career Points

It seems the Jets’ longtime sniper and underrated playmaker has the chance to up the hundreds number on his career points total every season. The 29 year old left winger currently has 674 on his career, all with the Jets since being drafted 17th overall in 2015, after recording 92 (39 goals, 53 assists) last season.

There was some question a year ago, when he was chasing 600-career points, if that was the last milestone he would set as a member of the Jets. However, he put any rumours to rest when he signed an eight-year extension one day ahead of 2025-26’s opening game.

Mario Ferraro – 500 Career Games

The offseason free-agent acquisition will celebrate his 500th-career game quite quickly with his new team as he currently sits at 490, all with the San Jose Sharks over the first seven seasons of his career.

The Jets will hope that’s not the only milestone Ferraro sets with them considering the three-year deal they signed him to and that he’s coming off a career 2025-26 (seven goals and 16 assists for 23 points.)

The 27 year old was a top-four defenseman for the Sharks who will be an upgrade on the left side of the Jets’ third pairing and also an option for the penalty kill.

Josh Morrissey – 100 Career Goals

The vast majority of Josh Morrissey’s points come on assists thanks to his excellent playmaking skills from the blue line, but he’s been known to pot a goal or two as well.

The longtime first-pairing defenceman and alternate captain sits at 94-career goals, all with the Jets since being drafted 13th overall in 2013. He’s reached double digits in goals each of the past four seasons and potted14 last season, so expect his 100th to come at some point midway through the campaign.

Nino Niederreiter – 500 Career Points

It seemed the Swiss winger was a lock to reach this milestone last season, but his output dropped to 19 points and he missed some time after undergoing an arthroscopic knee surgery he delayed. Thus, the 33 year old sits at 499-career points, almost perfectly split between goals (248) and assists (251). It shouldn’t take him too long to get point 500.

Last December, he played his 1000th-career game and in February, he represented Switzerland at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Mark Scheifele – 1000 Career Games, 400 Career Goals

The longtime first-line centre and first-ever Jets 2.0 draft pick will receive his silver stick this season, a physical testament to his long and productive NHL career.

Scheifele currently sits at 961-career games and will reach quadruple digits in the Jets’ 39th game of the season (which would be Tuesday, Dec. 22 in Nashville versus the Predators) if he plays all of the first 38. He will join Niederreiter, Sam Gagner, Paul Stastny, and Blake Wheeler to receive the award as a member of the Jets.

The alternate captain is also 28 goals away from 400 on his career. He scored 36 last season, where he took his game to new heights by putting up a career-high 103 points and becoming the first 2.0 Jet to reach the 100-point plateau.
