Carolina Hurricanes Announce Network Name Ahead of 2026-27 Season – The Hockey Writers – Carolina Hurricanes

Back on July 21, the Carolina Hurricanes announced that they will launch their own network heading into the 2026-27 season. At that time, no one knew the network’s name or who would be on the broadcast besides Mike Maniscalco and Tripp Tracy. Now, on Sept. 1, we officially have a network name and the on-air talent.

Welcome to the Hurricanes Hockey Network

Per the Hurricanes, the new network name will be the Hurricanes Hockey Network (HHN). In coordination with the NHL, Hurricanes vice president of communications Mike Sundheim will handle the distribution, sales, marketing, etc. for HHN.

Regarding on-air talent, it was already known that Maniscalco will handle play-by-play once again, while Tracy will be the television analyst. Now we have confirmation that Hanna Yates will remain with the team in her new roles as broadcast and digital host. Alongside Yates, just like in their time with Bally/FanDuel, Shane Willis will remain as an analyst for pregame, intermission, and postgame content.

This is exciting news for Hurricanes fans, as the four on-air talents that they tuned in for over the last four seasons are back once again. The fact that there aren’t any changes to the broadcast lineup is a great sign of what fans could be in store for with the new network.

Following the news of HHN and the on-air talent, CEO of Hurricanes Holdings Brian Fork stated, “We’re excited to welcome back our full on-air talent lineup as we launch Hurricanes Hockey Network. Our fans trust and appreciate Mike, Tripp, Hanna, and Shane to take them inside the game and keep broadcasts entertaining with insight, professionalism, and personality.”

Now that we have a network name, along with the on-air talent, fans are just waiting to see where games will be broadcast. The Hurricanes will be part of 12 nationally televised games this upcoming season, with those being on the Hurricanes Radio Network with Maniscalco and Tracy. That leaves 72 games remaining to be on the new HHN for the 2026-27 season.

Despite fans having to wait for more news on where to watch, it’s still exciting to see who will bring them closer to the action on and off the ice this upcoming season.
