Players to Watch
Chourio gives Milwaukee a power and speed threat who can change this matchup from the top half of the lineup. He is batting .282 with 19 home runs, 54 RBI and 14 stolen bases, and he went 4-for-5 with two home runs and a steal Thursday.
Texas has to keep him off base and out of favorable counts. If Chourio is creating traffic early, the Brewers can put pressure on the Rangers before the middle of the order comes up.
Turang keeps Milwaukee’s offense moving with contact, patience and speed. He is batting .257 with a .351 on-base percentage, 17 home runs, 78 RBI and 18 stolen bases.
That combination makes him a problem whether he is starting an inning or batting with runners aboard. Texas needs to limit his chances to extend innings and create extra pressure on the bases. His plate discipline also gives the Brewers another way to force Texas into longer innings.
Quantrill is the probable starter and Texas’ best chance to control the pace against Milwaukee. He is 6-4 with a 2.90 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 60 strikeouts in 83.2 innings.
