Quinton Byfield, a young forward who has quickly become a key player for the Los Angeles Kings, has secured his future with the team. The 21-year-old signed a five-year contract worth $31.25 million on Monday, solidifying his place with the Kings for years to come.

This past season was a breakout year for Byfield. He shattered his previous career highs after entering the league as the second overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. Byfield tallied an impressive 20 goals and 35 assists, scoring 55 points throughout the 80 regular-season games. His performance continued into the playoffs where he chipped in with 4 assists during the Kings’ Stanley Cup run.
