Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL) announced today that the club has acquired center Jan Mysak from Montreal Canadiens for right-wing Jacob Perreault and that Mysak will report directly to Anaheim’s San Diego Gulls development affiliate of AHL (American Hockey League).

Mysak, 21, spent portions of three seasons playing for Laval Rocket of the American Hockey League (AHL), recording 20-11=31 points in 110 contests as well as 28 penalty minutes (PIM). Most recently, this season, he scored 13-7=20 points across 48 AHL contests with Laval.

Mysak spent 2021-22 with Hamilton Bulldogs of the Ontario Hockey League, scoring 34-30=64 points while maintaining a +18 rating over 61 games after being originally selected by Montreal in the second round (48th overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft and scoring the most points by any Czech Extraliga junior (5-4=9 as 17-year-old). Over three seasons with HC Litvinov of Czechia’s premier league as a junior, Mysak registered 8-9=17 total points across three seasons from 2018-21 – one season recording 5-4=9 points during 2019-20.

Mysak, hailing from Litvinov in Czechia, represented his nation at three consecutive World Junior Championships (2020-2022), where he earned five goals to rank tied second for tournament leaders in goals while serving as Czechia’s captain. At each competition, he was recognized with All-Star team selection – as evidenced by being named to it with five three-point scores on three goals at All-Star. In 2022, his performance earned him selection onto its All-Star Team as well as being chosen to lead his national side at All-Star team selection in goals during play while serving his national captaincy duties at the All-Star level tournament.

Perreault, born April 15, 2022, and hailing from San Diego Gulls of the American Hockey League (AHL), appeared for one game with Anaheim before making his NHL debut against New York Rangers on January 8, 2022. As an AHL prospect from 2024-2025 with San Diego Gulls as Anaheim’s primary affiliate player, he recorded 32-59=91 points while amassing 179 penalty minutes during 161 career AHL games from 2020-24 with Anaheim development affiliate San Diego Gulls (SAN Diego Gulls).
Anaheim selected Perreault with their 27th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft and earned 7-11=18 points and 44 PIM during 31 games with San Diego this season. Hailing from Montreal, Quebec, Perreault accrued 69-56=125 points during 120 career Ontario Hockey League (OHL) contests with Sarnia Sting from 2018-20.
